Since mechanical engineering is most popular engineering degree, it is a broad branch of study. The opportunities in mechanical engineering are exceptionally varied in terms of money, as employers could range from the Army to NASA. Below is a list of common professions chosen by those who attain a mechanical engineering degree.
1. Aerospace engineer
Aerospace engineers deal with the design, construction and maintenance of aircraft, spacecraft, missiles and weapons systems. Aerospace engineers may have a choice between the research and development, testing or maintenance side of the profession. Engineers can work on flight safety, environmental impact, or even investigate plane crashes. Aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering are branches of this profession.
2. Automotive engineer
Automotive engineers are involved in the design, manufacture, distribution, marketing, sales and after-sales care of cars, motorbikes, and other commercial vehicles. It is necessary to have a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and safety engineering
3. CAD (Computer Aided Design) technician
A CAD technician uses CAD software to create technical drawings and plans for products used in engineering industries. CAD technicians create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and make modifications to existing drawings. They also create 2-D and 3-D models, calculate costs to check the feasibility of a product, and work with architects, engineers, and designers to understand the product.
4. Contracting civil engineer
Contracting civil engineers oversee and implement construction projects. They are responsible for providing materials, equipment, and laborers to carry out the construction project.
5. Maintenance engineer
Maintenance engineers check, repair, and service machinery, equipment, infrastructures, and equipment. They make sure that equipment and machines are working properly. Often, they remove old equipment and are responsible for replacing them.
6. Nuclear engineer
Nuclear engineers research and develop the processes, instruments, and systems used to derive benefits from nuclear energy and radiation. There are medical and industrial uses for radiation, like treating cancer or examining nuclear accidents.
7. Clinical technologist
Clinical technologists, who are biomedical engineers, are lab technologists that perform tests and examine and diagnose diseases in laboratory or medical settings.
8. Patent attorney
Patent attorneys help inventors file, prepare, and prosecute patent applications. Patent attorneys also help their clients enforce existing patents by suing other parties.
9. Technical sales engineer
Technical sales engineers explain technical information to clients and customers in order to make a sale of a specific product. They need to both understand technical aspects of the product and have good communication skills.
